Garage Door Needs Button Has To Be Held
You are overriding the infrared beam sensor when you hold down the wall button continuously while the garage door is closing.
Garage door needs button has to be held. Within this 30 second time period press and hold the button on the hand held remote. When i disconnect the carriage and manually move door it seems to move smoothly in both directions. If i just press and release the button the door starts to close then reverses. When you can close the door with the wall button by holding it down.
I tried resetting them but now the large button opens both doors at the same time. The learn indicator light will glow steadily for 30 seconds. When i returned from work today i pushed the button on my remote garage door opener but the door didn t budge. Even after putting new batteries in the remote the garage door still is not.
One of the sensor lights will usually be blinking when there is a malfunction. I have 2 craftsman 1 2 hp door openers each car has a remote and i am trying to get my remote to open with the large button on the remote and my wife s door to open with the other button. Garage door won t close unless button is held. They can easily become mis aligned due to bumping twisting and loose mounting.
Until it completely closes and the remotes only make the door move. Next release the button when the overhead opener unit s lights blink. My garage door will open by just pressing the button once but to close it i have to hold in the button until it fully closes. It is a craftsman.
Any transmitter like a handheld clicker or outdoor keypad will also not work to close the door if there is a problem with the sensor. The wall button and remote work fine for opening door but i have to hold down the wall button to close it.
