You will hear a loud click when the trolley attaches back to the carriage.

This prevents the carriage from reconnecting to the opener rail trolley allowing full manual operation of the door. The next step is to go to the inside of the garage door. When the time comes to reconnect your garage door simply pull the emergency release cord back toward the door to re engage the spring lever.
